In Excel we can use Data Validation to set up a simple drop down list to choose items from a list within a defined range of cells. Taking this a step further, we can combine Data Validation with either the OFFSET or INDIRECT formulas to set up dynamic drop-down lists. Dynamic drop-down lists update automatically to a new list of items, depending on the item you select in the main field or column.
